The last HOA Board meeting (in March) ended without setting a date for the next meeting. Based on the Board President’s stated preference for quarterly meetings, this likely means the next opportunity for member input may not occur until June.
A three-month gap between meetings significantly limits transparency, accountability, and the ability of Owners to stay informed and engaged. It also severely limit's the Board's ability to conduct its business. If you share these concerns, you might make your voice heard by contacting the Board President directly. The Board President does not have the authority to unilateraly change the frequency of board meetings, such a change must be voted on by the entire Board of Directors. In fact, the UP-HOA Board must approve almost everything of consequence. The Board President has, by design, virtually no inherent power. Your concerns will have far more impact if they are shared with the entire Board of Directors. They are:
Kat Bailey President uphoa.bailey@gmail.com
Sandy Bussiere Vice President uphoa.bussiere@gmail.com
Kathryn Murphy Treasurer uphoa.murphy@gmail.com
Gary Brudner Secretary uphoa.gary@gmail.com
Dan Dragan Director at Large uphoa.dragan@gmail.com
At the same time, CDD meetings continue to be held at 4:30 PM—despite overwhelming support from residents for a later start time such as 6:30 or 7:00 PM. Holding meetings during standard working hours effectively excludes many Members from participating.
If you believe meetings should be scheduled at times that allow broader community involvement, contact the CDD Chairperson at DBroyhill@universityplacecdd.org and express your position.
Active participation is the only way to ensure the community’s voice is not overlooked.
Take a one question survey: How often should the HOA Board of Directors meet?
